Educational Leadership Advanced Certificate
Offered through the Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University in collaboration with the Middletown Teacher Center

Learn about this Post-Master’s program for teachers, supervisors and administrators, which is offered by the Middletown Teacher Center in collaboration with Long Island University. This program leads to eligibility for NYS certification as a School District Leader (SDL) and certification as a School Building Leader (SBL). It also meets the requirements for superintendent and principal in New Jersey. The program is designed to prepare personnel at the school and district level to:

• Develop insights into and understanding of theories of leadership, particularly as they relate to decision-making and curriculum work
• Understand and develop human relations techniques
• Use research methods for evaluating, understanding and improving programs
• Analyze the influence of the power structure on the operation and administration of public schools
• Understand school law, personnel and business concepts
• Apply knowledge and skills to the administrative internship
